Canceling a GLP-1 Subscription: What Happens to the Money?

Stopping the next renewal, canceling an unfinished order and qualifying for a refund are different transactions. Six providers’ documents show why the distinction matters.

The most expensive misunderstanding in a GLP-1 cancellation may be assuming that one request does three jobs: stops future billing, halts the current prescription and returns money already paid. Provider documents often separate those events. A subscription can end while an existing medication order remains final. An unshipped prescription can already be nonrefundable. And an eligibility-related refund may cover medication but leave a consultation charge behind.

This guide examines the supplied documents for CoreAge Rx, Ro, Enhance.MD, Success by Sesame, Walgreens and Found, consulted October 19, 2026. Their policies illustrate different financial boundaries, not a universal cancellation rule. The practical starting point is to identify each payment, its billing period and the current order stage. Then request two separate answers in writing: what will stop, and what amount, if any, will be returned.

At a glance

An unshipped order can be final
CoreAge Rx’s policy makes prescription sales final after both clinician approval and transmission to the pharmacy, even before shipment.
Sources: [3]
Notice deadlines can differ
Sesame’s program page says to cancel before the next cycle; its general terms require email or telephone cancellation at least 48 hours before renewal processing.
Sources: [14] [5]
Dispensing matters
Found says medications and laboratory kits cannot be returned or refunded once dispensed or shipped, even if unused.
Sources: [10]
Eligibility guarantees are limited
Enhance.MD promises a full refund of the initial payment if onboarding determines that the patient is ineligible for its formulation; this is not a general cancellation guarantee.
Sources: [4]
Membership and medication can be separate
Ro Body’s membership excludes medication. Its advertised $39 eligibility refund does not establish a general right to recover prepaid membership or medication charges.
Sources: [2]

Start with the payment, not the cancel button

First determine what the charge purchased. Ro Body separates membership from medication; its membership includes a personalized plan, insurance assistance, messaging, check-ins, coaching and laboratory testing if necessary. Sesame also separates its subscription from medication, while including telehealth visits, unlimited messaging and ongoing clinical care. Canceling either service therefore raises at least two questions: what happens to the care subscription, and what happens to a prescription being handled elsewhere?

A bundled price needs a different breakdown. Enhance.MD’s Core subscription documents four weeks of semaglutide, ongoing care, supplies, wellness coaching, platform access and laboratory testing every six months. Found’s compounded plans include clinical care, medication and membership, but exclude applicable laboratory costs and branded GLP-1 drugs. Before requesting money back, ask which components have been provided and which refund rule applies to each. Our guide to what program prices include explains this accounting distinction.

Stopping renewal protects future money—not necessarily past payments

CoreAge Rx’s help center describes a choice between a one-time purchase and an optional subscription, with automatic renewals only for the subscription. Its policy allows cancellation through the patient account or Patient Care Team to prevent future renewal charges. However, its FAQ says there are no automatic rebills. Those statements are not fully reconciled. Ask support to identify your actual purchase type, next processing date and whether cancellation affects an already-created refill order.

Sesame’s program page permits self-cancellation before the next billing cycle and says previous months are not refundable. Its general membership terms impose a more specific channel and deadline: email support@sesamecare.com or call +1 (877) 947-6411 at least 48 hours before renewal processing. Those terms preserve access through the paid term but reject prorated refunds. Given the discrepancy, do not rely on a last-minute cancellation without confirming which procedure governs your subscription.

Before shipment may already be too late

CoreAge Rx provides a particularly clear example of why tracking a package is not enough. Its policy permits an order-cancellation request only if the prescription has not been approved, has not been transmitted to the pharmacy and has not otherwise become nonrefundable under its 30-day documentation policy. After both approval and pharmacy transmission, prescription sales are final—even when medication has not shipped. Its policy also makes orders nonrefundable 30 calendar days after purchase, including incomplete or unshipped orders, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Found uses a different boundary: medications and laboratory kits become nonrefundable and nonreturnable once dispensed or shipped, even unused. Dispensing is not the same event as compounding, and neither should be replaced with an assumed delivery deadline. A useful cancellation request asks for the time of prescription approval, pharmacy transmission, dispensing and shipment, as applicable. It also explicitly requests cancellation of the current order, rather than merely asking to close the subscription.

Ineligibility refunds are not all alike

CoreAge Rx’s FAQ promises an automatic 100% refund when a provider does not approve the prescription. Its refund policy instead returns the refundable treatment or medication portion while retaining an applicable $50–$100 consultation fee. The FAQ also describes charging before medical review, yet elsewhere says medication is billed when shipped. These conflicts make the exact payment sequence and retained amount important questions before purchase—and essential points to address when requesting a refund.

Enhance.MD promises 100% of the initial payment back if onboarding determines ineligibility for its formulation. Ro advertises a refund of the initial $39 if the person is ineligible for GLP-1s, while another passage says membership is charged only upon eligibility. Found distinguishes disqualification from all treatment options from rejection of one preferred medication: remaining eligible for another option does not qualify for its medical-disqualification refund. None of these promises should be read as a satisfaction or results guarantee.

The first consultation creates another money boundary

Sesame offers a full program refund when cancellation occurs at least three hours before the initial visit starts. Once that visit has occurred, the first month is not refundable. That is separate from the rule for stopping subsequent subscription charges. Someone who no longer wants to proceed should therefore distinguish canceling the appointment from canceling the subscription, and ask whether both actions have been recorded. The supplied documents do not establish that one action automatically completes the other.

Found’s membership language is less straightforward. It lists a full refund for cancellation within three days of the original purchase or before completing the first consultation, then follows with wording that creates ambiguity about when the fee becomes nonrefundable. Ask for a written interpretation rather than assuming the more favorable reading. Found also documents a separate $30 charge for missing a scheduled consultation or canceling with less than 24 hours’ notice; a membership refund question does not resolve that appointment charge.

Prepaid plans need a refund answer before enrollment

Ro advertises membership at $39 for the first month, then $149 monthly on its monthly plan, or as low as a $74 monthly equivalent with annual prepayment. Its three-month option is $99 per month equivalent, prepaid every three months; its six-month option is $89 per month equivalent, prepaid every six months. These are choices, not universal mandatory annual prepayment. The supplied pages do not establish general prorated refunds or cancellation rules for unused prepaid time.

Enhance.MD’s Core page labels plans as one, three, six and twelve months but specifies billing every four, twelve, twenty-four and forty-eight weeks. Its FAQ separately describes automatic renewal every 28 days, leaving the longer-plan mechanics unresolved. Found likewise combines commercial annual-prepayment language with terms describing 28-day billing. Do not infer an upfront total, medication quantity or minimum commitment solely from a plan label. See four-week and prepaid billing explained, and obtain the actual collection schedule and unused-balance policy.

Insurance and pharmacy transactions can remain separate

Ro says patients without medication coverage can choose cash-pay medication or cancel Ro Body membership. That option does not itself promise a membership refund. Ro also says insurance does not cover its membership. Found’s billing consent similarly treats its subscription as noncovered and permits later collection of patient balances after insurance claims: an invoice is due within 15 days, after which the card may be charged. Ask whether any clinical claim or balance remains outstanding when ending enrollment.

Walgreens illustrates why no subscription does not mean no recurring pharmacy activity. Weight Management advertises initial visits starting at $49, with follow-up chat visits and additional videos $49 each, medication separate. Its Bridge page says prescriptions will be set up to autofill the next month after the first approved fill through Walgreens. The supplied materials do not explain how to disable that feature or establish specific visit and medication refund policies. Confirm pharmacy orders independently; our guide to separate program and pharmacy bills develops that distinction.

Track the refund—and keep delivery problems distinct

A refund approval is not money arriving in the bank. CoreAge Rx generally processes approved refunds within 5–10 business days and warns that financial institutions may take additional time. Financing refunds through Klarna, Affirm or another financing provider go through that provider. Enhance.MD also describes a usual 5–10-business-day processing period. Request the approved amount, submission date, original payment destination and confirmation reference. None of these processing estimates guarantees the date funds appear in your account.

A lost or damaged delivery is a different issue from buyer-requested cancellation. CoreAge Rx says it reviews transit problems and coordinates replacement or reshipment when applicable, rather than promising an automatic refund. For injectable GLP-1 medication arriving warm or insufficiently refrigerated, FDA explicitly advises not using it and contacting the provider or dispensing pharmacy. Preserve the delivery details and seek instructions; do not assume a no-return policy settles the problem. Keep your original quote and correspondence using a written-payment checklist.

Questions & answers

How should I contact CoreAge Rx about cancellation and a refund?

Its policy permits subscription cancellation through the patient account or Patient Care Team. The help center lists support@coreagerx.com for billing and technical matters and (307) 405-1638 for calls or texts. State separately whether you want to stop renewal, cancel an existing order and request a refund. Ask support to address the conflict between the FAQ’s 100% ineligibility promise and the policy’s applicable consultation-fee deduction.

Does Ro’s $39 refund mean I can recover any unused membership payment?

No such general promise is established by the supplied pages. The documented $39 refund concerns initial GLP-1 ineligibility. Ro separately offers monthly and prepaid membership choices, while medication costs extra. If insurance denies medication coverage, Ro says you may cancel membership or choose cash-pay medication, but that passage does not promise a refund. Ask specifically about your paid term and any medication transaction.

What should I confirm before canceling Enhance.MD?

Confirm the next actual billing date, the governing plan schedule and whether a refill is already underway. Its terms require cancellation before the next billing cycle, while the FAQ’s 28-day renewal description does not explain longer-plan billing. The supplied evidence lacks the linked shipping-and-returns policy and final checkout terms, so unused-prepayment refunds remain unresolved. Support is listed at support@enhance.md and 1-888-299-5088.

Which Sesame cancellation deadline should I prepare for?

Prepare for the more specific documented notice requirement while asking Sesame to confirm applicability: at least 48 hours before renewal processing, by email or telephone. That differs from the program page’s self-cancellation-before-next-cycle language. For an initial refund, the program sets another deadline—at least three hours before the first visit. These are separate clocks, and the general terms do not offer prorated refunds for the current paid term.

Does Walgreens’ no-subscription model eliminate cancellation concerns?

It removes a required Weight Management subscription, not every possible payment or refill issue. Visits and medication are separate charges, and the Bridge page says prescriptions will be set up to autofill the next month after the first approved fill through Walgreens. The supplied sources do not establish cancellation, no-show or refund rules for these visits, or a procedure for disabling Bridge autofills. Ask both the clinical service and dispensing pharmacy what remains active.

Can Found refund a renewal or an unwanted medication?

Found says renewal payments are nonrefundable and recommends canceling or pausing at least 48 hours before the scheduled renewal. Medication and lab kits are nonrefundable once dispensed or shipped. Its medical-disqualification provision also does not promise a membership refund merely because your preferred medication is unavailable to you if other treatments remain eligible. Ask for a component-by-component decision rather than treating the entire payment as one refundable balance.

Our assessment

The strongest cancellation plan separates future charges, the current prescription and money already earned or committed under the provider’s policy. Some documents offer useful protections, including initial ineligibility refunds and advance-visit cancellation windows. Others contain conflicting payment language or leave prepaid balances unexplained. Neither a cancel button nor an unshipped package establishes refund eligibility. Obtain written confirmation of the effective cancellation date, current order stage, retained fees and refund amount—and treat ongoing care decisions as a separate conversation with the treating clinician.
